Useful General Links / Video of 367 Freelance
October 13, 2021, 08:51:54 AM
Here is a video a friend made of his 367. When we first met he was traveling with a 365 ketch and I have the pilothouse so all three versions were together.

Pearson Pilothouse / Adding Drawers
December 07, 2015, 03:26:11 PM
The Pilothouse has a nice chart table, but it came with a flip down front for chart storage. Anything else, like parallel rulers, you put in there could easily get lost in the back. It wasn't too difficult to build a drawer using the flip down front as a drawer front. A T Track was installed as a guide and to keep the drawer from dropping when open.

Seeing the wasted area under the stove, I decided on another drawer. This time I had to make the front, so I carefully cut out the opening so the piece removed could become the drawer front. I found some mahogany to match the original for the edging and using two different hole saws made the finger pull. The drawer has a T track guide and needs to be lifted slightly to pull open.

Pearson Pilothouse / Pearson Pilothouse Documents
December 01, 2015, 04:11:21 PM
I have some "blueprint" documents that came with my Pilothouse. I have just had them scanned and uploaded to my brother's website, (that's the music part). These are the only links to these PDF's.
Docking Plan
Layout
Sail Plan
Electrical Diagram

Enjoy,
Bob

Pearson 365/367 Yacht Club / Pilothouse Rendezvous
August 16, 2012, 09:51:51 AM
We were out in the Apostle Islands a few weeks ago and were pleasantly surprised to meet up with two other Pearson Pilothouses'. As I approached Stockton island's Presque Ilse dock I spotted Cinnamon Girl out of Thunder Bay Ont. at anchor. While docking I was even more Surprised to see Island Dreamer from Washburn WI tied to the other Pier.
Of course we had to tour each others boats, and share some cheesecake and brownies on the dock, all the while admiring a 365 ketch at anchor. With 10% of the Pilothouse production present we decided to declare this an Official Rendezvous!

Pearson 365/367 Yacht Club / Visiting San Diego
February 27, 2012, 10:14:52 AM
I plan to be in San Diego for a couple of days this week (2-29 3-1) so I thought I would see if  there was a chance to meet any 365 owners?

Dale mentioned surfing other boating websites and that reminded me of one I ran across. It was on the Catalina 36 website which now appears to be open to members only,Grrrrr. >:(
I was looking for a V-berth mattress and saw where a fellow had done it himself. It involves modifying two twin bed mattress's (Sam's Club $100 each). I used rosin paper to make the pattern, then knowing where you need to modify it you open the seams, cut and re-bend the rods, remove the extra springs, crimp some tubing over the rods and stitch it back together. It's been a wonderful improvement, and I thought I would share it with the 365 owners. :) The boat is a bit messy since I have a few projects going on during layup.

OK how often do you replace the hose that attaches the hull to the stuffing box? I had replaced mine at 11 years when I bought the boat and it seemed just fine. The replacement has been in 19 years and still looks and feels fine so I'll probably go another year, but I wonder how long others have gone. I've always liked to say that the only original hoses are the shower and refrigerator drain hoses, but there are some that will be due for a second replacement soon.  :-X

Pearson 365/367 Yacht Club / 365 Pilothouse
February 24, 2010, 05:18:49 PM
I'd like to introduce myself. I recently found this board while doing a search for anything on the 365 Pilothouse. I've had my 1980 Pilothouse hull #17 since 1992 and love it. I'm located on the western end of Lake Superior. I found the boat on Kent Island in the Chesapeake while looking at several other pilothouse designs. Flying home my wife kept saying "I really like that boat" so I figured it would be a good choice. There are four of the Pearson Pilothouse's now on this end of the lake. Another couple bought theirs after looking mine over during winter layup a few years ago. I posted a link to a picture.
